Video Appointments

What a year! In the solar world, it started with an absolute bang. Smashing all business records out of the window as it appeared that both Greta Thunburg and David Attenborough had both joined our marketing team, such was the demand from those most concerned about the climate.

Then in March, the phones stopped.

Then they started again, in May and we have been busier than ever with our new processes and ways of doing things and just as we were making the adjustments work, boom, we’re slapped in the face and told to change everything, yet again……

So here we are, in November, furloughed again. Whilst installations can continue, people are no longer permitted to attend The Solar Shed for consultations and presentations. And we’re not allowed to visit peoples houses, unless installing and no one gets installed unless they know what they’re buying. So, the sales arm of the company is stuck in limbo at present.

We hear that a vaccine for Covid is just around the corner, but there’s nearly eight billion people on the planet and can’t seeing us being at the front of the queue, so will not be waiting till that arrives before we get back up and running. So, as a business, we are having to make decisions on a daily basis on how we operate within the guidelines and regulations without compromising the customer service that we are renowned for.

Understanding solar, how it all works and how to get the best out of it, is visual. Seeing a few charts, looking at the products, how they are fitted, what ancillary items are involved and where do they go. What do they look like and how do we know if the system is working? These are all questions that we answer by showing people our own systems both in the house and here, at The Solar Shed during a visit. In our world, that’s where the business gets done. In our premises rather than sending a salesman to yours!

So over the next week or so, we’ll be making further adjustments and tweeking a few processes to make the whole buying process even easier. And the answer is simple. Video. Rather than a chat on the phone (still an option) then a visit here, (not an option) or a visit to you (not an option) what we’ll be doing is inviting you to a video call as soon as you contact us. Say No and we just carry on, on the phone. Say yes and you get the full experience.

On solar, you get to see systems close up, what fixings are used, we have a very large screen to share data. Nothing more than numbers but numbers from thousands of peoples solar systems to show you exactly how they benefit.

We have a range of battery systems as well as panels so we not only show you what they look like but also go through different options for different peoples needs. Some people are looking to take as little from the grid, others to reduce their carbon. To some is purely about rising energy costs and a growing energy demand as the family have been spending much more time at home. Some people need extra backup during a power-cut for fridges or medical aids and others try and go for months without taking any energy at at all from the grid.

Every client has different needs but all still require undivided one to one consultations and it appears video is the answer.

So, as of now, when you contact us, we’ll invite you for a face to face chat, online. And just think, not only do you get to sit in the comfort of your own home, I get to stay here and that means one of us is not driving. Not using fuel. Not adding to the congestion. We’re saving time and hopefully money on top of the fuel savings so the new way of doing things might actually be better after all.

We’ll update all our pages as and when we’re open again, should be within a week or two, max.
