In a matter of months, the UK’s trading relationships will be changing. For our industry, at least the uncertainty will be over as we move forward and we can finally get on with what needs doing. Getting as much solar installed as we can, in the hours afforded us.
The Climate Battle seems to have stagnated in recent months in the UK due to an ineffective Parliament. And as they all get back to work on Monday, i think it will be a real shock to some. Especially those who have taken their eye off the ball.
This summer, the coastline of Alaska was ice free for 150 miles inland for the first time since humans have walked this earth.
Australia is having it’s hottest temperatures recorded, whilst its major cities are engulfed with smoke from wild fires, chocking the inhabitants like the Chinese belch on their self made fumes and pollution.
Here in the UK, we have had yet more floods in areas that shouldn’t be flooding that often, and farmers are struggling to plant for next year.
The rivers of our planet carry discarded human waste out to sea for plastic islands to form. Sea life feed off of this and in turn, plastics are choking them to death and where caught, humans are now digesting the plastics the fish had eaten.
Waste, pollution and the hot house effect are all linked to human behaviour. The carbon we produce, the plastics we demand, then discard and the fossil fuels we burn, all to emit pollutants at nose high to a toddler in a pushchair.
As the climate changes, our weather is becoming more erratic, less predicable, more extreme – more often.
We are all to blame, and we have to take responsibility. We need to reduce our fossil fuel use, we need to resist buying into the convenience of film wrapped food and plastic products that serve no purpose after initial use.
Here in the UK, the big backers of the Government have already called for a review into Fracking, there are whispers about the department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy being split when they are so needed to be linked. Many fear the environmental agenda will be pushed back down the line as we leave the EU and that will be cheered in some quarters.

But here, on the front line in the climate war, we will not be changing tact. We will not change course and we will not change direction. For you, our potential customers, I hope that prices come down further, but fear the opposite.
What we do know that whilst the transition is going to be painful, those that have already embraced renewables will testify to the reason why they chose a greener, cleaner future.
